Insul-Tarp® Under-Slab Insulation
RESIDENTIAL GARAGE - WASHBURN, IL - FALL 2025
Jobsite Ready
Insul-Tarp rolls are lightweight and compact, making them easier to carry, load, and unload compared to bulky rigid foam boards. Their flexible form takes up less space in trucks and on-site storage, which helps reduce shipping costs and keeps the jobsite organized. This convenience translates to smoother logistics and was one of the reasons Insul-Tarp was chosen for this heated slab project.

Efficiency Boost for Heated Slabs
An un-insulated foundation and slab can result in a large heat loss from an otherwise tightly sealed, well-insulated structure. Insul-Tarp prevents heat loss to the ground by creating a thermal break between the slab and the soil below. Also acting as a vapor barrier, Insul-Tarp prevents moisture from migrating through the slab and into the building.
Fewer Seams, Faster Install
Using Insul-Tarp rolls instead of rigid foam board reduces seams by an incredible 80% on a 30' x 40' slab. That means fewer cuts, less taping, and a faster, cleaner installation. With only 80 linear feet of seams compared to 400 feet with 4’ x 8’ sheets of foam board, Insul-Tarp delivers energy-saving performance while saving time and labor on the project.
Durability During & Beyond Pour
Insul-Tarp is engineered to withstand the rigors of a concrete pour without tearing, shifting, or losing its insulating properties. Its tough, multi-layer design includes cross-woven skins that resist punctures from rebar chairs, foot traffic, and equipment. Unlike fragile foam boards that can crack or break under pressure, Insul-Tarp stays intact and in place, ensuring continuous insulation and moisture protection throughout the pour and beyond.
